Review: I have owned this air filter since February of 2005 and I have been very pleased with it’s performance. It keeps my 400 sq.ft. shop very clean and gives me peace of mind knowing that I am not breathing in all the sawdust I have created while building a project. It has filters at both ends, with the inflow end being a washable electrostatic pre-filter. The remote control has an LCD readout letting you know what speed it is set at as well at the time interval.
I had the air cleaner shipped to me directly from JDS (purchased on Amazon.com). JDS could have done a better job packaging their product as it came with a dent on the top. It didn’t effect the operation of the filter so I didn’t bother going through the trouble of getting it replaced.
Great air filter - well worth the money.
Hi, have you trialled any other air cleaners? a friend of mine wasn’t very happy with this model! would be interested in your other reccomendations.

If this machine can clear up an industrial space, then I assume that it should work very well in a home as well?
Can the filter be cleaned, or is it one of those that needs replacing? I guess I am asking about maintainence overhead.

I have not trialed other cleaners. I based my decision to purchase the cleaner on what I read in reviews in American Woodworker and Wood Magazine. I also checked out the reviews on Amazon.com. My expectations for it’s performance were set by those reviews and it did meet those expectations.

The pre filter can be washed and serves to increase the longevity of the pocket filter behind it. My shop is in the basement of my house, so I would say it works well in the home.
